My 'alter ego' - Momentum Training
My 'other life' includes sales training, keynote speaking and inspirational talks. I have a unique philosophy, that being lucky is a guiding force in my life. 'Applied Optimism' is my theory and also the premise of the workshop I hold on a regular basis. I'm at the top in my field in sales, and have valuable knowledge and skill that I impart. But in addition, I like to show how being optimistic, opportunistic and energetic helps people to never give up and to achieve success with their life and business goals.
Sections of my teaching deal with the departments of customer service, management, telesales and team building. This is not your typical training - a good blend of facts, theory and technique with plenty of humour and stories! Check out the Momentum website for more details.
?Nobody can motivate another person, that's something they have to do for themselves, but what I can do is share information and real life stories of things that work. Once you get people to 'buy in' to that understanding, they are more inspired to go out and apply some of the simple ideas and changes of attitude that will change their lives.? Deano Harrison

Why Deano shaved his head bald - and raised $1Million for Charity!
Deano (a.k.a. Master of Wishes, Creator of Chaos and Extractor of Promises) had had a ponytail for years when a mate's son was diagnosed with leukaemia. Seeing the sick kids bored on the recovery ward really hit home...Deano challenged some advertising and fishing clients to match his $100 donation, and said he would shave his head bald to raise funds for children with cancer and their families. Raising over $27,000 in twelve days, he did it again in 2004 and raising nearly $80,000 for the Child Cancer Foundation, setting a Guinness World Record for shaving 117 heads bald in 57 minutes in the process - this included 11 brave women!! Now an annual event called 'funrazor?', the following year they shaved 131 heads in 46 minutes and rolled out the event Nationwide and in Antartica!!! To date in 2008, well over a NZ$1million has been raised by Dean and his wife Becs for children's cancer charities. It would be great to have you involved...as a sponsor, or to raise money for these kids and their families by getting YOUR head shaved!! ALL money raised goes to The Child Cancer Foundation in the area the monies are raised. The funds raised gives all kids in treatment for cancer a Christmas present, with a visit from Santa and his helpers 'Mistle and Toe' (the Christmas fairies) and a hamper of goodies for the family. The remaining funds are held in trust and managed by The Child Cancer Foundation and used for family support across the year as well as for Christmas. This photo is of a beautiful young lady, Gemma, who is sadly no longer with us...but will always hold a special place in our hearts, Gemma is pictured with the Christmas Fairies Mistle and Toe, and on the left, Deano. Deanos lovely 'other half' Becs (sometimes wears a purple wig and goes by the non de plume of 'Toe') is the 'Coordinator of Chaos' and event manager for funrazor?. |

Since 1973 two generations of the Selke family have put their name to a range of gear they believe is worthy of it, and today these products are sold throughout the world. At the end of 2001, Selke Enterprises was established in Ashburton to manufacture their traditionally styled range of leather and fabric hats, all leather reversible belts and more recently cotton oilskin vests, all of which are now becoming well known throughout New Zealand and are exported to Canada, Australia and the United States of America. All about Haast....
Haast is a town located along the western coast of New Zealand?s South Island. The town was named after Julius von Haast. Haast in New Zealand covers about three main areas, Haast township, Haast Beach as well as Haast Junction. It is a popular tourist location but despite this, it has a small population and its economic mainstay other than tourism is farming and fishing. The south west coast of New Zealand is the area of the country that remains truest to its rustic origins. Haast itself can be found in the area of the Te Wahipounamu which is a World Heritage Site comprising about four parks: Aoraki/Mt Cook, Fiordland, Mt Aspiring and Westland Park. All parks are national parks and are frequented regularly by tourists. |
